DP and BD Take the Winner’s Circle in Week 4, DP Grabs the Throne

Membership Experiences a Seismic Shift in Standings for the First Big Shake-Up of the Season

Effective date: 2014-10-03
With only 13 games taking place, Week 4 was the first week of the NFL Season with teams on the bye week. Perhaps having three fewer games in Week 4 was a contributing factor to large movement in the standings this past week. In Week 4, 12 of our 17 members found themselves at a different place in the standings, and the majority of the movement was from one spectrum to the other. That being said, four of our members (BD, BS, DP, and KS) have found themselves amongst the top each week this season, and they seem be rather comfortable.

For the second week in a row, DP has shared the Winner’s Circle. After Week 4, DP finds himself sitting the throne alone, looking down at a pack of hungry wolves nipping at his heels. In only his third PFVCC Season, DP has proven himself a worthy competitor, finishing in the top third in both his rookie and sophomore seasons. Will this season be the year DP takes his first title? So far he’s making a solid run, and making some great picks. [President’s Note: As many, or all, of you know, DP is my father and has been the person against whom I have competed most intensely for my entire life. Therefore, this paragraph is my Father’s Day gift to him for the next three years.]

Now that that’s out of the way, it’s everyone’s favorite part of the week: notable performances!! BD—stand up and take a bow! Although her streak of double-digit picking weekends ended in Week 4, BD still had the gumption to pick 9 winners, just narrowly missing out on maintaining a very impressive streak. Bravo BD! As mentioned previously, both BS and KS had strong performances, with BS picking up a spot from his position last week, and KS firmly standing his ground. JD also had a good weekend, picking himself up an additional spot to find himself tied for fourth place. Additionally, both CM and your’s truly, JP, made movement this week, jumping two places and five places, respectively, in the standings.

Week 5 promises more seemingly lopsided matchups, but that just means upsets and unpredictability, which is what we at the PFVCC thrive on! Have a wonderful Sunday.

Happy Picking.

JP
