GH โ George Henry Matthews
Founder of PFVCC and the leagueโs first champion in 1981.

GH, George Henry Matthews, was our founder. His vision was a unifying spirit that brought the Sweeney and Matthews families together in the spirit of sport and good fun.
GH, father-in-law to SS, was the first PFVCC champion in 1981. He played 16 years and amassed 2,150 wins.
GH was born December 6, 1919 and passed away on January 23, 2004.
GF โ Stender Sweeney
One of the greatest pickers in PFVCC history and a major patron of the league.

GF, Stender Sweeney, father to JB and grandfather to KS, SS, and BS, is one of the greatest pickers in PFVCC history, with an all-time winning percentage of .650 (minimum 750 games).
GF further distinguished himself as one of PFVCCโs greatest patrons as the leading donor to the Kevin B. Sweeney Scholarship Fund.
GF was born August 30, 1900 and passed away on August 5, 1998.
JB โ Joseph Sweeney
Two-time PFVCC champion and keeper of years of PFVCC audiovisual history.

JB, Joseph Sweeney, son of GF and father to KS, SS, and BS, was a two-time PFVCC champion who played 25 years while amassing 3,687 wins.
JB was a Crystal Piglitzer recipient for his outstanding service to PFVCC as the executive in charge of all audiovisual productions. The PFVCC museum includes years of recorded events.
JB is the only PFVCC member to have a bobblehead presented in his honor.
JB was born on August 16, 1932 and passed away on January 18, 2021.
JD โ JD
Two-time PFVCC champion with one of the highest lifetime winning percentages in league history.
Inducted July 1, 2016
JD, husband to BD, father-in-law to KS, and in-law to JR, played 22 seasons and gathered 3,564 winners. Including seven lifetime ties, JD posted a staggering 64.69 winning percentage.
At the time of his induction, this was the highest winning percentage in PFVCC history with a minimum of 1,000 games played.
JD was a two-time PFVCC champion.
JD was born June 3, 1931 and passed away on February 2, 2016.
