It has been prepared to enable you to fully enjoy the excitement and friendly spirit the PFVCC affords to its members.
The members of the Rules Committee set the rules and regulations and consequently any questions should be directed to that Committee.

5) Pick Procedures
DEFINED
A pick is selecting a team to win a football game.
PROCEDURE
A member in good standing is responsible to make a pick for each game played before that game is played. The member must either:
- Enter picks via the world wide web (WWW.PFVCC.ORG) ; or
- Call the president or his designee.
These are the only sanctioned ways to have picks entered in the official Master Pick Book. It is a memberâs responsibility to ensure that a pick has been correctly entered.
TIME DEADLINES
Each member must have caused his picks to be entered into the Master Pick Book by Friday 8:00pm Los Angeles time.
- If a game is played on any day other than Saturday, Sunday or Monday, the memberâs pick must be entered into the Master Pick Book by 8:00pm.
- If a game is played on any day other than Saturday, Sunday or Monday, the memberâs pick must be entered into the Master Pick Book by 8:00pm Los Angeles time the day prior to the start of the game.
DEFAULT TEAM PICK
By definition, a Default Team Pick is the:
- Home team for seasons prior to the 2016 season
- Visitor team for seasons beginning in the 2016 season and after
At the discretion of the President, Default Team Picks may be awarded if a member is delinquent in any fees or dues for the duration of the time the member is delinquent.
MEMBER OUT OF TOWN WORKING
The Club affords special privileges to members that are out of town working in as much as your time may not be at your discretion. Therefore, the time deadline is extended up to 9:00am Los Angeles time on the day of a game. The Member must provide a notification that work caused the pick delay.
OTHER MEMBERâS PICKS
A member may inquire and be informed of another memberâs picks so long as all picks have been logged into the Master Pick Book and the pick deadline has passed except in the last week of the season.
6) Administration
STANDINGS
The Club will provide newsletters (or other communiquĂŠ) with the standings and records of each member. For a member to be eligible to win the PFVCC Championship, or any other cash or non-cash award, a member must have picked at least eighty percent (80%) of the scheduled games. Failure to meet the 80 percent test will disqualify the member from being granted any award or money.
MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
It is a memberâs responsibility to double-check the won-lost-tie records. If a member fails to bring to the attention any errors to the Chairman of the Statistics and Records Committee within one week of a newsletter or other communiquĂŠ reporting records, the standings will be deemed to be correct.
YEAR-END TIES
If one or more members are tied for first place at the end of the year, the following tie breaking system will be used:
First: Each member that is tied for first place will enter his picks for the upcoming playoff games. The first winner of any game in which the members differ, will be considered the winner and awarded the coveted (and for some, elusive) PFVCC Championship. NOTE: Even though the members picked four games (presumably two games on Saturday and Sunday respectively) and the members differed on the first game Saturday, the member who picked the winner would be the PFVCC Champion regardless of the outcome of the remaining games already picked.
Second: Pick the winner of the Super Bowl (upcoming not the previous year).
Third: The member with the most Loner Picks. A Loner Pick is a pick in which a member was the only member to pick the winning team for a specific game.
Fourth: We give up. Split the winning award evenly.
Members tied for any other position other than first place will split the winnings equally and will not enter into any playoff.
FEES
Each player must pay a fee to participate in the fun. Read just a touch more for detailsâŚ
Dues and fees are assessed annually and may change from year to year. The dues/fees are set at the discretion of the Finance and Executive Committee. Input is not solicited. Dues/fees are due prior to the pick deadline of the first game of the season.
AWARDS BANQUET DINNER
The Social Committee hosts the annual Awards Banquet Dinner. Included in the annual fee is your dinner ticket. Only members in good standing may feast.
Members in good standing are allowed to bring a spouse or significant other to the dinner. The Social Committee and/or the Executive Committee reserves the right to refuse admission to, well, anyone.
Spaghetti shall be the official dinner of the Awards Banquet Dinner.
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS
The Club reserves the right to make a special assessment if the Executive Committee approves the assessment.
