The PFVCC

Just 8 weeks ago, DP was 12 games back and planning his offseason vacation and now, after one of the best stretch drives in PFVCC history, he finds himself hoisting his 3rd Championship trophy! This incredible run included making up a nine game deficit in just 3 weeks and with that a trip to the Penthouse! A true underdog story as DP never cracked the top 3 in the standings until the final week when his 12 wins was enough to pass CM, SS and KS. A mind boggling feat and one that deserves recognition from all membership! As DP was unloading his bags and his newly earned PFVCC hardware, second place finishers SS and CM waved him down to give their congratulations. Although through gritted teeth, even proven champs like SS and CM could appreciate what DP had just accomplished. DP had earned the respect of his peers and with that he had earned an offseason spent enjoying the Penthouse! CM and SS walked somberly down Penthouse Drive discussing what they could have done differently but even they knew they gave it their all. After their years spent battling, they knew that a podium finish in the PFVCC was a solid year and although being so close might sting now, when they look back on the season they will be proud.

As the sun sets on this season, DP settles into the Penthouse for the first time this year. He walks around the spacious abode soaking in all that it has to offer. Once so far down the road, he still can’t believe that he holds the keys. He places the perpetual PFVCC trophy on the mantle with his newly engraved initials “DP” on the front. A final congratulations to DP on an incredible performance and a huge thank you to membership for your participation. For the final time this season, I sign off.
