LF IS CROWNED 2012 PFVCC CHAMPION

SS and KS Battle for Second Place โ€“ KS Wins

Effective date: 2012-12-30
The PFVCCโ€™s 32nd season comes to an end with a first-time winner. LF in his seventh year in the PFVCC posts his career season high with 170 wins and earns the 2012 PFVCC Championship. Going into the final week, each of the contenders had enough differences to overtake the front-runner LF. SS out by four games had four differences (won 2), KS out by three games had four differences (won 2) but the closest challenger DP, out by two games, took a win at all cost approach and posted 8 differences (won 2). As game results posted throughout the day, LF was really never in trouble of losing his top spot. LFโ€™s unbelievable stretch drive run (last 4 weeks of season) posted a 51-13 record providing the momentum to push others out of his way to win his first championship.
LF will have his initials inscribed onto the PFVCC Championship Trophy and the Annual Awards Banquet held in his honor will be planned forthwith.

While LF was securing the top spot, KS and SS were scrumming for second place awaiting the outcome of the Washington-Dallas game. With Washington winning, KS secured second place with 12 wins for the week. KS picked like a past champion but one must consider if KS, after a four year hiatus, misplayed the MIP. With 6 and 8 wins in weeks six and ten respectively, KS may have lost momentum and ground, the usual outcome of under estimating the MIP. Did the MIP cost KS his fourth championship. Will second-guessing haunt KS over the post season?

DP who found himself in second or third place for most of the second half of the season took a very aggressive and bold approach to the final week. He can explain his strategy at the Awards Banquet BBQ. A fine first year performance and now DP can drop the Rookie moniker.

Perennial contender and five time champ DR made a run in the last few weeks posting over 40 wins over the last four weeks but came up short in the final week. We look forward to DRโ€™s usual good spirits at the Awards BBQ. MS who took temporary rent in the top spot (week 12) picked a strong week 17 with 11 wins finishing with over 160 wins for the year and finished in seventh (two games behind SSโ€”MS understands the reference!!!). JD also finished with over 160 wins for the year and was in striking distance as week 16 concluded but could not come up with enough differences (2) to make a run at the brass ring in the final week.

Fifteen members played this year an all-time high for the PFVCC. So many great stories during the year but itโ€™s impossible to mention everyone so we look forward to everyone attending the Awards BBQ where we can share the untold stories.

The Social Committee will be in touch with dates for the Awards Banquet BBQ but consistent with prior years I would expect early July 2013 we will gather to honor LF.
