LF Stands Ready to Defend Title

The 32nd Annual Pig Dinner was, again, the toast of the coast with memorable food, merriment and interminably endless speeches. It's hard to believe that the Mona Lisa could be improved upon but when BS has his pallet and brush in go-mode even Sweeney's Weenies can be improved upon. How BS was able to deliver his weenies even bolder, juicer and a hint spicier...well, only he knows.
Speeches and food aside, this year included an emotional tribute to players of yesteryear. SS, Chairman and President announced the Inaugural Class of the newly unveiled PFVCC Hall of Fame.
SS held the audience captive as he raised the curtain on three individual banners containing the name, years played and record of GH, GF and JB. In addition to JB's banner he also received a bobblehead of his likeness. It was only marginally creepy.

It’s time to get ready for the upcoming season. The PFVCC website is now live. This year the NFL channel will be broadcasting 13 Thursday night games. Mark your calendar now so you don’t get a Home Team Pick! Game 1 is Thursday, September 5th with the World Champion Baltimore Ravens travelling to Denver. Another reason to celebrate besides opening night, it is KS’s birthday. Good Times!
In Member news, during the off season, both SR and JP got married! No, not to each other, but to their beautiful brides Macall and Jennifer. Good work guys.
During the Winter Meetings, the Membership Committee met and unanimously voted in our 22nd lifetime member and player #16 on this year’s roster. JR aka Jonathan Roberts hails from the Dickason clan. The rookie professes to be a long-suffering Jets fan. JR told the Committee he is so excited to be part of the group after listening to JD ramble on (ramble on are my words not JR’s – hate to start a family situation) about the camaraderie shared by the PFVCC members.
In news from the accounting office, I am pleased to announce for the 12 straight year dues will remain the same at $25.00. As usual, this pittance amount, includes 256 games to pick, subscription to the weekly newsletter - where facts and figures come alive and of course your seat with a guest to the Annual Awards BBQ. Please make your check payable to Stephen Sweeney and mail to 1865 Westhaven Road, San Marino, California 91108. Mail this now and do me a favor so I don’t have to follow up. This is the least fun of the whole operation. So please do it now….. So, let’s get started on our 33rd year.
