I had absolutely no intention of picking Atlanta last week as a loner. It was a mistake, a reversal of numbers from my lair in Northern Vermont. Must have been benumbed by the cold. Can I have it back? Nope, didn't think so, but that is what I really meant to do. I can see the crocidile tears of concern flooding the West Coast.

Hey KS.. The Jewel of Florida couldn't pick up anything on you this week, but we successfully "vanished" JB and MM, at least for this week. So, here's to the final race. I hope that there are no Silky Sullivan's back there and that you and I fight it out. And, can you believe that guy from Sports Illustrated picking Cincy over KC and pulling it off. Wish I had that sort of gut, but, NO WAY!!!

DR, I have done some statistics. Looking at the record, anyone adhering totally to the home pick system for the system would be 73-57 or 56% and the best week was 10-6 clear back in the first week. In a week when the average was something like 50% plus you take the home team (is "take" an operative word) and pull an 11-3. Oh that the rest of us had had the temerity (is that a real word) to just lay back and take the luck of the draw. I would like to believe that it was your wisdom, but, maybe it was just not getting to the job, and getting lucky, lucky, lucky. Darn, I wish I had your luck. Boy, I sure do have a lot to do tonight!!!!JD
