LF leads the way in a tough week across the board

Week 5 parity tightens the standings heading into the thick of the season

Effective date: 2023-10-10
Week 5 was a battle as it felt like a fight that went the full 12 rounds and ended in a split decision. Bloodied and bruised were all 15 members of the PFVCC, however one stood in there and was able to land a few more jabs than the rest. This was LF’s week behind his 9 wins and although it wasn’t a knock out performance, it was enough to lift himself into the second spot on his own and just 1 game back. 6 members slogged out 8 wins piece to keep themselves on the positive side of the ledger, while the remaining few need their cornerman to talk them up and get them ready for their next bout in week 6. Even though the standings shuffling distracts us from the tough picking week the league had as a whole, it wasn't enough to keep the whispers of the MIP at bay. For our new member DJ, and those that might have forgotten, the MIP refers to the midseason indifference phenomenon. A phenomenon that strikes every season without fail and is partial to no one. Now I know what you’re thinking, “Mr President, isn’t it too early for the MIP ?” To that I say, no one knows… Not one member scored double digits in wins, and although that isn’t a requirement for the MIP to strike, it certainly doesn’t bode well. MIP or no MIP, we push onward to what is set up to be a great week 6!

MM and NF were our loners in week 5 which they have both grown comfortable with over the years. This week was NF’s time to shine as he won his matchup taking LAS over GB. MM wasn’t so fortunate as MIN was on the losing end of a close matchup with KC. Its always fun seeing loner legends battle it out!! Great win NF!

Week 5 felt like the setup for a big week 6… A storm is brewing and I sense some big moves coming…

Your President,

LF
