After Weeks of Clawing, BS is Back On Top

SS is Week 8โ€™s Big Winner with 12 Wins

Effective date: 2014-10-27
For weeks now, BD, BS, and KS have been in an all-out dogfight for the top spot in our storied, legendary football league. As Week 8 wrapped up this evening, BS found himself, once again, seated alone on the throne after a week well picked. There wasnโ€™t an overwhelming amount of GOO this week, but there was certainly enough for BS to edge out BD and KS. BS (along with SS) shared the Pick of the Week with a that-shouldnโ€™t-have-been-so-surprising performance by NO in their shootout victory over GB. Rodgers was cold, Brees was hot, and the rest is history.

The most consistent weekly segment thus far this season has been the stellar performances turned in by BD. The last time BD didnโ€™t have a double-digit picking week was Week 4โ€”and to be fair, no one had double-digit picks in Week 4. BD has not tallied less than nine wins this season, which makes her the most consistent picker of the season. There must be something in the water down there in Florida, because JD had another strong week and once again has found himself firmly planted in the top four. A couple of weeks back, both DP and LF were tied for first place with BD, BS and KS, and this week they find themselves tied with each other for fifth place after DP recorded his worst week of the season and dropped a place and LF gained a position from last week. DP and LF are both strong pickers and are still very much in the race, so weโ€™ll see if Week 8 lights a fire for them in Week 9.

BS was only one of four members to finish the week with double-digit wins, as he picked an impressive 10 winners in Week 8. TB followed suite and also had a great week with 10 winners. JP (yours truly) had a well picked week with 11 winners. Although JP didnโ€™t move at all in the rankings, he did make up some much needed ground on the top half of the competition as we head into the midway point of the season in Week 9. The big winner of Week 8 was none other than SS, who recorded an excellent 12 winners. SS is the first to admit heโ€™s been struggling this season, which is bound to happen after so many dominant seasons. SSโ€™s 12 wins not only shot him up two positions in the rankings, but he, like JP, also made up some much needed ground on the competition.

AS KS pointed out on the message boards last week, if one does not discuss the MIP, perhaps the MIP doth not cometh. Unfortunately, I believe it is my duty as your President to point out that Week 8 was membership's weakest picking week since Week 4, and as mentioned previously, this coming week, Week 9, is the official halfway point of the season. This picker is as hopeful as everyone else that we can beat the numbers and rejoice in song and dance next week; however, with the beginning of back-to-back 13 game weeks (like Week 4), anything is possible!

Have fantastic weeks and enjoy your Sunday.

Happy Picking.

JP
