SS Extends Lead Over the True Freshman of So. Utah
And Now ...
Effective date: 2017-10-03
The
PIG
When Saturday morning the mainframe spit out the group picks this reporter could only shake my head and say, “for all that’s holy, why do I still have a mainframe.” Well, The PIG has been on a several-year hiatus with little need to update the infrastructure. So the white coats were up early to ensure all of the tubes would properly warm before we pushed out the punchcards to reveal said picks.
While the news of the week is the news, there was a real backstory to the picks of the week. Whoever had the bright idea of visitor-team picks as the default for careless clock watching was surely not expecting a week experienced by BS, KB and NF. Had it not been for some real upsets their seasons could have come to an abrupt halt. The pickless amigos remain in the hunt.
Now for a look at the week gone bye.
Crazy upsets early in the day were buffeted by expected wins late in the day. KS and CM score the best of the week with 11 wins but only gain on the leader by one. Loner boners belong to DP with OAK and LF with WAS. Sad.
The wins spanned a narrow window with most others with seven to nine wins.
In anticipation of this one-week edition of The PIG, this reporter reached out to some of those who had written in seeking insights to the PFVCC. The Contact Team here at The PIG was brought back together for this edition to reach out to some of those fans. Here is Pig Penning. Enjoy.
Remember Jamie from Jalisco, Mexico? It turns out he’s now a hedge fund manager in NYC. He was thrilled to hear from us. Here’s his question.
I come to United States 4 years ago. My English is very good and I make money lots of it. Hez Butternuts in PFVCC still?
Well Jamie, he still is and enjoying early success this year. He was most recently champ in 2011.
Dee-Dee from Montpelier was always interested in our Home Team pick policy writing often to push the idea of Visitor Team Picks. Here’s her question.
“Thanks so much for contacting me! You know what I’m interested in.”
Sure do, Dee-Dee, the home team pick policy. Well, last year was a test year to test and evaluate changing the policy. I’m pleased to report that Visitor Team picks were voted as default picks for this year and beyond.
Who can forget Jurap from Alhambra with his wine and cheese recipies? Well, Jurap didn’t have a question for us only this thought.
“The PFVCC made me think a lot about wine and cheese possibilities. I now have seven wine and cheese shops in southern California and we cater. I call it Jurap’s Cheese Traps.”
Jurap, good for you. Nice to know you’re thriving. I’ll pass along your info to PFVCC Social Committee.
