JD, I said "Interesting", but that maybe payback for my last mistake... all is ok because I am one of those dogs that is taking CHOMPS from your heals... go ahead, release your hounds on me. Afraid, no. Worried, no. two weeks. That is all it will take. Take heed. (by the way Merry Christmas!!!)

SS, "interesting" doesn't quite describe the situation accurately. I keep wiping the blood of my heels from being nipped by that bunch of yapping little dogs that are chasing me. If they don't quit, I am going to sic my bull mastiff on them. Shoo, shoo. Go away!!!!!

The more I look the wierder this year is getting. Winning percentages for past years were 1999 (DR) 66.9%; 2000 (BS) 66.5%; 2001 (SS-BS-MM tie at end of regular season) 65.7%; 2002 (JB) 62.9%; 2003 (KS)67.6% and 2004 (JD) 66.4%. Note, the highest was KS's 67.6%. At the end of week 13, JB is 8 out is at 130/192 or 67.7% which slightly exceeds all previous year end figures. It will be fun to see how the last four weeks go.

OOPS-Sorry JD, that was your question.... And it was. You can see all the prior years standings from the main page. For those forgetting the formula for calculating the win %. It is Wins/(wins+losses+ties)

DR, Good question. With JD's 170 wins last year, his Win PCT was 66.40%

Does anyone know what the winning percentages were for 2004 and earlier? My recollection is that the numbers ranged in the 67-68+% range. This is a strange season if one notes the four in second place are at a very strong 69.8% through week 13 and I am over 70%. I don't ever remember this happening.

Los Angeles, CA (AP) - A seven year old boy was at the center of a courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with the child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the UCLA Bruins, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Bowl During the Super Bowl, there was another football game of note between the big animals and the little animals. The big animals were crushing little animals and at half-time, the coach made a passionate speech to rally the little animals. At the start of the second half the big animals had the ball. The first play, the elephant got stopped for no gain. The second play, the rhino was stopped for no gain. On third down, the hippo was thrown for a 5 yard loss. The defense huddled around the coach and he asked excitedly, "Who stopped the elephant?" "I did" said the centipede. "Who stopped the rhino?" "Uh, that was me too" said the centipede. "And how about the hippo? Who hit him for a 5 yard loss?" "Well, that was me as well," said the centipede. "SO WHERE WERE YOU THE FIRST HALF?" demanded the coach. "Well" said the centipede, "I was having my ankles taped."

JD, perhaps you would like to submit your name to the executive committee as next years editor??

BS, I do congratulate you on the loner pick of Miami. Wish I would have had the guts to do the same.

Well, let's see how our editor is doing. It took twelve lines before there was a modest acknowledgment of the leader's giant leap into sole posession of the lead. Took four our of five from MM and nary a mention of that part of the feat. Looks like MM may have been trained by the LA Times which paper doesn't seem to recognize anything from east of the Missippi River.

MM, just go away. Don't you just feel so bad that you picked those wicked, venal Vikings and then let them win. You need to do about a dozen Hail Mary's to atone for that one.
