I don't know if anyone else noticed, but bravo to the PFVCC Art/Design Department for the wonderful updating to the PFVCC logo on the home page.

Gosh no. I did not miss sentences 2, 3, 4 and five. As a matter of fact I reread them several times to see if my original question was answered! :-) You know, the one where I wonder aloud why give any advantage to a non pick week. After pouring though sentences 2, 3, 4 and 5 I guess the simple answer is that you don't want to substantially penalize people for non picking. Good enough. When will it appear on the PFVCC official poll? Other than JD, MS and me, maybe no one else cares.

As to home team accounting, I agree with KS. It is a matter of principal and even though the policy has been in existence for a long time, it does'nt mean that it couldn't be changed.

Sill, funny enough, does not answer the realllly simple question of why the league rewards wins on a percentage basis for not picking.

Dear KS, your inquiry regarding the Home Team Pick (HTP) rule has crossed my desk and I see you have posed the question on the PFVCC Message Board. League Management hopes this response on the message board, although informal, will be acceptable to you as our formal response. If a member misses and game or a week of games the result will be devastating to their performance standing. In order to keep the member "in the year-long game" the HTP is awarded. As you state in your mesaage,the home teams have won 57% of the games since 2002 (stat not verified by this office)which is still far below the 31 year or 63,481 game winning percentage by our members of 63%. League Management does not feel the rule "rewards for non-picking" but does help keep a member from being devasted in their performance standings. As a backstop to ensure that members are actively participating, please review the PFVCC Membership Manual, section Administation, sub-section Standings, where the rule states a members must pick 80% of the games played to be eligible for awards and cash prizes. I hope this response gives clarity to the HTP rule and satisfies your interest in this matter. Thank you and happy picking.

Since 2002 home teams have won 57% of the time. Other than tradition, why does league management reward non picking? I think I shall submit this to the league's chief of polling.
